I have been so excited to share this cherry banana smoothie recipe because it is just that good! My kids, my husband, my sisters and my mom all went crazy over this smoothie recipe. In fact they have been begging me to post it!
This recipe even convinced one of my sisters to finally buy a blender, just so she can make it! It is just the perfect healthy, sweet treat that you can actually eat every day if you want.

Here is is the simple list of ingredients you’ll need to make this cherry banana smoothie recipe.

- Frozen cherries – frozen cherries are the base of this smoothie recipe. You can buy frozen cherries in almost any grocery store in the frozen foods section.
- Bananas – the addition of the fresh banana gives this smoothie drink a nice creamy, thick consistency plus added nutrients. If you prefer an even thicker smoothie you can freeze the banana in advance.
- Greek yogurt – full fat or nonfat Greek yogurt adds a nice thick, and tangy taste and texture to this smoothie recipe. If you need to keep this smoothie dairy free then use dairy free Greek yogurt.
- Almond milk – plain almond milk is added to help blend all the ingredients nicely. Although I used almond milk, any milk will work in this recipe.
- Chocolate protein powder – I love adding protein powder to my smoothies for that extra hit of protein and they actually add some nice flavor too! I used Clean Simple Eats chocolate protein powder. Make sure to use a protein powder that tastes great!
- Chia Seeds – I added chia seeds for extra fiber and nutrients plus they help thicken the smoothie as well. You could also use blended flax seeds.

- Use a mix of fresh and frozen fruit for the best consistency. I love the mix of frozen cherries and fresh banana in this recipe.
- Add a healthy fat to balance everything out. In this recipe I like to use Kefir or you can also use Greek Yogurt.
- Add a protein to keep you fuller longer. I used a vegan chocolate protein powder which also gives this healthy smoothie a nice chocolate flavor.

Ingredients
- 2 cups of frozen cherries
- 1 medium ripe banana
- ½ cup coconut milk or almond milk
- ¼ cup kefir or plain greek yogurt
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder – I used a Clean Simple Eats
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
Instructions
- Add all smoothie ingredients to a blender. Adding the liquids first to make it easier to blend.
- Place the lid onto the blender and blend on high until smooth.
- Divide into glasses and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Enjoy this smoothie immediately for the best results.
- You can use frozen banana as well as frozen cherries if you like.
- Use coconut milk or coconut yogurt in place of the kefir or greek yogurt to make this recipe vegan friendly.
