Ingredients in This Viral Chicken and Peas Salad
You only need a handful of simple ingredients to make this creamy viral chicken salad with peas. Here is what you’ll need.

- Rotisserie Chicken – to keep this recipe super easy, I used a store-bought rotisserie chicken. You can of course also use leftover cooked chicken breast or even cooked turkey breast in this recipe.
- Peas – frozen, cooked peas will give you the best flavor plus loads of more protein and fiber.
- Onion – I love to add a little diced red onion for color, flavor and crunch.
- Parsley – fresh parsley adds a nice herby flavor to this salad that pairs so well with the other ingredients.
- Dressing – I whipped up this cream dressing with Greek yogurt, mayo, dijon mustard, honey, lemon, parmesan, garlic, salt and pepper and it was 10/10!
Recipe Notes
- Peas – use frozen peas since they are frozen at the peak of freshness and tend to be sweeter than fresh peas you can buy in the produce aisle.
- Make sure after you cook the peas that you pat them dry since the excess liquid can drown out the other flavors.
- Chicken – you can use store-bought rotisserie chicken, or leftover cooked chicken breast or turkey breast. Also dice or shred the chicken so it is easy to mix up and eat.
- Greek yogurt – use Greek yogurt or sour cream here, your choice but the Greek yogurt will make this a high protein meal.
- Onion – I added the onion for color, crunch and flavor. If you don’l like onion then leave it out or swap it with chopped celery or scallions.
- Herbs – I love adding herbs to my chicken salad recipes so I used fresh chopped parsley. Fresh dill or even basil would work great as well.
