Ingredients You’ll Need
Here is the simple list of ingredients needed to make this homemade ninja creami strawberry ice cream.

- Greek yogurt – I used nonfat, plain Greek yogurt but have also tested this recipe using vanilla bean Greek yogurt and both worked great. Nonfat Greek yogurt will result in a lighter strawberry ice cream and full fat Greek yogurt will result in a thicker, creamier ice cream. You could also use strawberry Greek yogurt for a more vibrant strawberry flavor.
- Strawberries – I used fresh chopped strawberries which is what I recommend for the best flavor. You can use frozen strawberries but they will not be as flavorful since they tend to water down the ice cream a bit and are harder to blend.
- Maple syrup – The maple syrup is used to add sweetness to the ice cream and to enhance the strawberry flavor. If your strawberries are more ripe and sweeter then you may not need as much maple syrup. I would add half the amount, give it a taste and adjust as needed.
That’s it! Just 3 simple ingredients!

Expert Tips For Making The Best Ninja Creami Ice Cream
- Blend the strawberries – when you blend the strawberries before adding them to the yogurt it enhances their flavor and makes the yogurt turn this beautiful light pink color. You can also fold in some more chopped strawberries if you like before you freeze the ice cream mixture.
- Use Greek yogurt – Greek yogurt is thicker and creamier than other yogurts so I recommend using it above all others. It also has more protein, making this a protein ice cream, which is a win, win!
- Freeze the pint long enough (this matters more than people think). 24 hours is the sweet spot. If it’s only frozen overnight (like 10–12 hours), the center can still be soft and it won’t spin evenly. Pro tip: Freeze it on a flat, level surface so it spins evenly.
- Use the right setting for your base. If your base is mostly Greek yogurt / protein / low sugar, use: Lite Ice Cream (best for high-protein + lower sugar), Ice Cream (best for traditional higher-fat bases).
- Add some mix-ins – I love this strawberry creami ice cream as is but adding in some fun mix-ins really takes it over the top.
Ninja Creami Mix-Ins
Here are some of my favorite Ninja Creami ice cream mix-in’s.
- Freeze dried strawberries
- Chocolate chips
- White chocolate chips
- Mini chocolate chips
- graham cracker crumbs
- Sugar free cheesecake flavor pudding mix – 1-2 tablespoons
- Vanilla protein powder (optional)
- Strawberry protein powder
- Strawberry shortcake cookies
- Oreo’s
- Sweet thins – Simple Mills
Best Types Of Greek Yogurt To Use For Ninja Creami Ice Cream
- Fage Greek Yogurt – My favorite!
- Siggis Greek yogurt
- Chobani plain or strawberry Greek yogurt
- Nancy’s probiotic Greek yogurt
Strawberry Ninja Creami Ice Cream Substitutions
- Maple syrup – you could use honey, agave or any sugar substitute you like. The amount you will need to use will depend on the sweetness level of your strawberries as well as your taste preference. I recommend adding half the amount then tasting and adjusting the mixture as needed.
- Greek yogurt – use any Greek yogurt you like, just make sure it is Greek yogurt. Plain, vanilla or strawberry will work best in this homemade ice cream recipe.
- Strawberries – since this is a main ingredient there really is no substitutions except you could use frozen strawberries but that may alter the flavor and texture of the ice cream.

Storage Tips
What is so great about Ninja Creami strawberry ice cream is that you can easily freeze leftovers and re-spin the next day. I actually tested this and it worked great! I got the exact same result, even after re-freezing the ice cream and respinning it 24 hours later. I even added some chocolate chips as a mix in and it was absolutely delicious! It is the perfect light, low sugar dessert!

Ninja Creami Strawberry Ice Cream
- Total Time: 24 hours
- Yield: 2–3 servings 1x
- Diet: Gluten-Free
Description
This 3 ingredient strawberry Ninja Creami ice cream is a protein packed healthy treat you can eat every day! It is made with Greek yogurt, blended strawberries and maple syrup and is creamy, easy to make and so delicious everyone will want to try it!
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh strawberries
- 1.5 cups Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Clean, dry and chop the strawberries
- Add the chopped strawberries to a high speed blender and blend on high until they form a smooth strawberry puree.
- Combine the yogurt, strawberry puree and maple syrup in a medium mixing bowl.
- Transfer the strawberry ice cream yogurt mixture to your Ninja Creami pint container and place the lid on tightly.
- Place the mixture into the freezer on a flat surface and allow it to freeze for at least 24 hours, freezing it for no more than 48 hours.
- When ready, remove the container from the freezer, secure it in your Ninja Creami machine, select your desired cycle (I used soft serve), hit “spin” and it will likely spin loudly for 4-5 minutes. Once it is done, check it and respin if needed. It should be a creamy, thick consistency. If the ice cream appears icy, add a splash of milk and re-spin until it is creamy. At this point you could also add mix-in’s if you like and select the “mix-in’s” cycle, which usually runs 1-2 minutes.
- Then serve tight away and enjoy!
Notes
- Use Greek yogurt since it is thicker and creamier plus high in protein then regular yogurt.
- Fresh strawberries work best in this ice cream recipe but you can use frozen strawberries, just thaw them first.
- Store leftover Ninja Creami strawberry ice cream in the pint container, covered tightly with the lid in the freezer for up to 48 hours. Just “re-spin” when ready to enjoy!
