Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries: Juicy and ripe strawberries provide a burst of natural sweetness and a refreshing, tangy flavor to this recipe as well as a good amount of Vitamin C!
- Strawberry Greek yogurt: Creamy Greek yogurt infused with strawberry flavor, offering a smooth and tangy taste. Any brand will work, full fat or nonfat. I used this one.
- Chocolate chips: Rich, sweet chocolate adds a decadent touch and creates a delightful contrast of flavors with tangy yogurt and fresh strawberries.
How to make frozen strawberry yogurt Bites
Combine the chopped strawberries and Greek yogurt in a mixing bowl.
Mix them together to form a creamy yogurt filling.
Drop the yogurt mixture onto a lined baking sheet using an ice cream scoop or spoon, leaving space between them. Make 2-inch clusters, yielding about 8 yogurt bites.
Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and freeze for 30 minutes or until frozen solid. The smaller you make the clusters the quicker they will freeze and vice versa.
Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Cool for a few minutes before using.
Dip frozen Greek yogurt bites in melted chocolate, and place back onto the baking sheet. Optional: sprinkle sea salt.
Let them sit on the counter to allow the chocolate to harden for a few minutes, then enjoy!
Pro Tip: For smoother and easier dipping, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to the chocolate chips before melting them.
Expert tips for the best results
- Use fresh fruit: This recipe calls for fresh strawberries or other fresh berries. Frozen fruit tends to be too wet and mushy, which can affect the texture and overall outcome.
- Freeze until solid: To prevent the yogurt bites from falling apart during the chocolate dipping process, make sure to freeze them until they are completely frozen solid.
- Form even-sized clusters: Divide the strawberry yogurt mixture into clusters of about 1.5-2 inches in size. Using an ice cream scoop can make this process easier and ensures uniform freezing.
- Allow the chocolate to cool: After melting the chocolate, let it sit on the counter for 3-5 minutes before dipping the yogurt bites. This helps the chocolate thicken slightly and reduces the risk of the clusters falling apart.
Flavor variations
- Raspberry Clusters: Replace strawberries with fresh raspberries in the yogurt mixture and use raspberry Greek yogurt or plain Greek yogurt for a tangy twist that pairs perfectly with the chocolate coating.
- Tropical Twist: Swap strawberries with diced fresh pineapple in the yogurt mixture and opt for coconut-flavored Greek yogurt for a refreshing tropical flavor in every bite.
- Mint Chocolate Chip: Add peppermint extract to the yogurt mixture and use mini chocolate chips for a cool and minty chocolate experience.
- Peanut Butter Banana frozen yogurt bites: Mix smooth peanut butter into the yogurt mixture with small chunks of banana and use dark or milk chocolate chips to create a delicious combination of peanut butter, chocolate, and tangy yogurt.
Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh strawberries?
Fresh strawberries are recommended; frozen ones become wet and mushy, impacting the texture and outcome.
How long do I need to freeze the yogurt bites before dipping them in chocolate?
Freeze the clusters until they are frozen solid, which usually takes about 30 minutes. Freezing them completely ensures they hold their shape during the chocolate dipping process.
Can I use flavored regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt for this recipe?
Yes, you can use flavored yogurt, but Greek yogurt is preferred as it offers a thicker and creamier consistency. This helps the clusters hold together better.
Storing tips
Store leftovers in a container in the fridge for up to 4 days. To freeze, layer them between parchment paper in a freezer-friendly container, and keep them frozen for up to 1 month. Defrost on the counter for a few minutes before enjoying.

Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
