I love bark recipes because they are so easy to make, require minimal ingredients and there is no baking involved. This newest chocolate strawberry bark recipe has become a favorite in our family.

If you are out of strawberries then you may also love this chocolate banana bark that is just as easy and delicious! Or this NEW cookie dough bark!

This chocolate strawberry peanut butter bark is made with 3 main ingredients (fresh strawberries, peanut butter, and chocolate chips) and is so quick to assemble and make.

We made it with layers of luscious strawberries, drippy peanut butter, and melted dark chocolate. It tastes similar to a chocolate-covered strawberry and is a wonderful healthy dessert you can keep in the freezer for when that sweet craving hits.

Ingredients For This Chocolate Strawberry Bark

Here are the simple ingredients you’ll need to make this viral chocolate strawberry bark.

    • Strawberries – you’ll need fresh strawberries cut into slices. Frozen strawberries will not work in this recipe. I used about 12-15 medium size strawberries.
    • Peanut butter – creamy, drippy peanut butter where the only ingredients are peanuts and salt that have been well stirred. Note: if the peanut butter is too oily then it will take much longer to set.
    • Dark chocolate chips – I chose to use dark chocolate chips but any chocolate chips will work. You could also use a dark chocolate bar. You will need about 10 ounces.
    • Coconut oil – we added a small amount of refined coconut oil to the chocolate to make it nice and silky smooth, making it easier to pour and spread.

How To Make Chocolate Strawberry Bark

Step 2: Arrange the strawberries in a rectangle on a lined baking sheet.

    Expert Tips For Success

    • Cut the strawberries thinner rather than thicker and try to find strawberries that are medium in size.
    • Make sure the strawberries are touching as you line them up on the baking sheet.
    • Use a nice drippy, creamy nut butter (preferably peanut butter) that is not too oily or it will take longer to set.
    • Allow the peanut butter to set before you pour the chocolate layer so you get three nice layers that stay together when you cut and eat the strawberry bark.
    • Work fast when spreading the melted chocolate layer. Since the strawberry and peanut butter layers are chilled first, the melted chocolate will harden fast, so make sure to pour and spread it quickly.

    Substitutions and Variations

    • Any type of nut butter will work as long as it is easily pourable and spreadable. Use a nut-free peanut butter for a peanut-free version.
    • Add more toppings – we love to add shredded coconut, chopped peanuts, or chopped pretzel pieces to the top for even more flavor and texture.
    • Make individual-sized bark – arrange the sliced strawberries in a small circle or square, spread each one with a layer of peanut butter, chill then add a layer of the melted chocolate. Chill and enjoy!
    • Use sliced bananas instead of strawberries to make a chocolate banana bark!
Large pieces of cut chocolate bark with layers o peanut butter and strawberries on a plate.

    Storage

Store leftover chocolate strawberry bark in a freezer-safe container or ziplock bag in the freezer for up to one week. Enjoy right from the freezer or let the bark sit out for a few minutes, then serve.

    FAQs

Can I use any type of chocolate?

Yes, any type of meltable chocolate will work.

Can you use freeze-dried strawberries for bark?

Yes, freeze-dried strawberries will work but it may be challenging to spread the peanut butter layer since they tend to be smaller and lighter than fresh strawberries.

What is the best type of peanut butter to use?

You want to use a creamy, drippy natural peanut butter where the only ingredients are peanuts and salt.

    Description

This viral chocolate strawberry bark is made with 4 simple ingredients and is the best healthy no-bake treat! Layers of sliced fresh strawberries, creamy peanut butter, and melted chocolate chilled and cut into a strawberry bark everyone will love!

    Ingredients

    Scale
    • 12–15 medium strawberries thinly sliced
    • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
    • 10 ounces dark chocolate chips
    • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

    Instructions

    1. Line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the sliced strawberries into a rectangle shape. I placed them 5 across and 7-8 down.
    2. Pour and spread the peanut butter in a thin layer over the strawberries and place the bark in the freezer for 20-30 minutes until the peanut butter layer is set and not longer sticky.
    3. Add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe dish and microwave it in 30-second intervals, stirring it in between until fully melted, about 1-2 minutes.
    4. Pour the melted chocolate over the bark and spread it out evenly into a thin layer. Work fast since the chocolate will start to set pretty quickly.
    5. Return the strawberry chocolate bark to the freezer to set, for about 20 minutes.
    6. Remove and cut into pieces.
    7. Serve and enjoy!

    Notes

    • Use fresh medium-size strawberries and cut them thinner rather than thicker.
    • Make sure the strawberries are touching when you line them up on the pan.
    • Pour the peanut butter and chocolate layers into thinner layers or it will take longer for them to set.
    • Work quickly when spreading the chocolate layer since it will begin to harden quickly since the peanut butter and strawberry layers will be cold.
    • Store leftovers in a freezer-safe container in the freezer for up to one week!
