Description

Get perfectly cooked, easy peel hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot in 15 minutes. This foolproof method is geat for meal prep and is the easiest way to cook hard boiled eggs that you will ever try!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 612 whole eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup of ice – for the ice bath

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of your instant pot. Place a metal trivet in the bottom and place the eggs on top of the trivet in a single layer. I was able to fit 12 eggs at a time in my 6-quart Instant Pot
  2. Secure the lid of the pot and set the vent to the “Sealing” position. Set the pot to cook for 5 minutes in manual mode. It will take 5 minutes for the pot to come to pressure first before you see it count down the 5 minutes of cooking time.  While the eggs are cooking, pour some water and ice into a large bowl and set it aside.
  3. Let the Instant Pot naturally release the pressure for 5 minutes after the cooking time. Then carefully remove the eggs from the pot, I like to use tongs for this. Place the eggs immediately into the ice bath for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes, remove the eggs from the ice bath, easily peel them, and enjoy! Or dry them, let them cool and store them for later use.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs that are less than 1 week old for the best results.
  • Store leftover unpeeled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Store peeled hard-boiled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
