Air Fryer Pineapple

Description

This caramelized sweet air fryer pineapple makes the best healthy dessert or snack that is guilt-free and so addictive. Get the flavor of grilled pineapple with just 3 simple ingredients in minutes thanks to the magic of the air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch chunks – about 4 cups.
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pineapple. Peel and cut the pineapple into even size chunks that are about 1 inch then place the cut pineapple into a medium size bowl. 
  2. Add flavoring. Add the maple syrup and cinnamon to the pineapple and toss to coat it really well. 
  3. Cook. Preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees F and spray the air fryer basket with non-aerosol cooking spray to prevent the pineapple from sticking. Place the coated pineapple in a single layer with no overlapping into the air fryer basket. Give it a good shake to even it out. Cook it for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time. 
  4. Serve. Once the pineapple is done cooking, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving it warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or Greek yogurt. 

Notes

  • Buy a fresh, ripe pineapple that is vibrant in color with a nice aroma with firm skin. 
  • Cut the pineapple into uniform sizes – like 1-inch chunks. 
  • Shake the basket halfway through the cooking time to allow the pineapple to get nice and caramelized on all sides. 
  • Let the cooked pineapple cool for a few minutes before serving. 
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F until warmed through.
