Description
Homemade croutons: Garlic, cheesy, crusty ciabatta bread cubed and baked into perfect little crispy croutons you can top on salads, soups or just enjoy as a snack! Ready in 20 minutes and these store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks! Super easy!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cubed bread (preferably day-old ciabatta bread)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast seasoning
- 1 tsp adobo seasoning
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F
- Add the olive oil, nutritional yeast seasoning, garlic powder, adobo, chili powder and dried basil to a medium-size mixing bowl and whisk. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add the 4 cups of cubed bread to the bowl and toss to coat. I used my hands to do this.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the seasoned bread onto the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, toss halfway through.
- Once the bread is nice and crispy brown, remove and serve immediately on top of your favorite salad or soup or enjoy as a snack. You could also cool the croutons completely and then store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- You could also use a gluten-free bread for gluten-free croutons.
- Ranch or taco seasoning also work great for seasoning the croutons.
