My kids LOVE Banana Bread so I needed to create a spin on it since I make it so often. I decided to add in some chocolate (I know, I am so creative) to my favorite recipe and it was magical!
Full disclosure thought, I am not the best baker. I am a much better cook by far! I am working on my baking game and will post dessert recipes as I get better. My sister Tara is an amazing baker and I will be posting some of her incredible sweet concoctions as well. So don’t despair.
I am however, great at making banana bread. My kids ultimate favorite desert! Probably because it is the only sweet treat I am good at making them ha ha.
I have made this recipe too many times to count. I remember making it at least twice a week during my brief stint as a “stay at home mom” so I can pretty much make it in my sleep (although I of course would never attempt to do that). The best part about banana bread, in my opinion is that you can use up ripened bananas and pull it together in nearly minutes. Great thing for mommy’s with little munchkins since we are very short on time.
This banana bread is very rich and full of that punch of chocolate that we all love but also has the hint of banana that pairs so well with the crunch from the chocolate chips that are present inside and out. It ended up being super moist (from the ripe bananas, which is key). I cannot wait for my kids to get home and try it since I am quite certain they will eat all of their dinner knowing that this is waiting for them at the end of their meal. That should make bedtime a slam dunk I hope. Or it may backfire on me since I will be giving them sugar and chocolate before bed. Either way, I am excited to reward them with this special treat mid-week.
Since I am a professional banana bread maker, in my own terms from all of my diligent practice, I am sure you and your family will be pleased with this special version that is sure to put a smile on your kids faces.
