For the burger bowls

- 1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
- 1/3 cup sliced red onion
- 1/3 cup sliced pickles
- 1/3 cup cooked, chopped bacon – optional but so good!
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Make the burgers
- Add all of the burger ingredients to a medium size bowl and mix well to combine. You can use clean hands or a spoon or fork to do this.
- Evenly form 4 burger patties by pulling about 1/3 cup amounts of the meat mixture and forming it into a flat, round burger patty that is about 3/4 of an inch in thickness. Press your thumb into the center of each burger to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
- Heat a skillet brushed with a bit of olive oil ( about 2 teaspoons) to medium heat. Once the pan is heated up, place the burgers into the pan in an even layer. You may need to do this in batches. Cook the burgers for about 4 minutes per side, until they each reach 165 degrees F. Remove and set aside.
Make the special burger sauce
- Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small-medium size bowl and whisk well until it forms a creamy, smooth sauce.
Assemble the burger bowls
- Place a generous amount of the lettuce into the bottom of each bowl. Add 1-2 turkey burgers on top of the lettuce, then top each bowl with some cherry tomatoes, red onion, bacon, pickles, and cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle each burger bowl with some of the sauce and enjoy!
Notes
- Form the burgers into 4 even-size burger patties that are about 3/4 of an inch thick all around.
- Make the burgers and the sauce in advance then just heat the burgers, assemble the bowls, and enjoy when ready to eat.
