Description
Ingredients
Scale
For the Brussels sprouts
- 1 lb. fresh Brussels sprouts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- The juice of 1 lemon
- Grated Parmesan cheese – optional
Instructions
- Prepare the Brussels sprouts. Trim the leaves off of the Brussels sprouts (they will likely fall off while you slice them) and cut them each in half lengthwise. Then add them to a medium size mixing bowl.
- Season. Drizzle them with olive oil, toss them, then season them with some garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat them all in the oil and seasoning.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F and spray the basket with olive oil spray. Spread the Brussels sprouts in the basket in a single layer and cook them for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. If you prefer them crispier then close the basket and cook them for 3-4 more minutes.
- Serve. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with a sprinkle of lemon juice and grated parmesan.
Notes
- Use fresh, not frozen Brussels sprouts. Trust me, I tried to air fry frozen, defrosted Brussels sprouts and they just turned out super mushy and not appetizing at all. Buy fresh Brussels sprouts and cut and trim them yourself for the best price and flavor.
- Flip them in the basket around 5 minutes then continue cooking until they are golden and crispy.
- Cut and trim the Brussels sprouts before cooking them. This is very important and will allow them to get super crispy edges and cook more evenly.
- Storing – let them cool completely and place them into an airtight container. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3-4 minutes.
